By Richard, Co-Director, IHF Kenya
This week was a very quiet one at the centre. With the children on school holidays and staff taking time to see their families it has been a good time for the five Directors here to recuperate and reflect on the events of the last few months. When the centre is at capacity it is very easy to get wrapped up in the day-to-day challenges of feeding, clothing and educating 76 children. So it is good to take some time out to review the successes and advancements big and small that we have seen this year.
- Elvis took to his IT course like a natural and posted his last his exam with a mark of 86%. He will be starting secondary school in February.
- The centre now has a new chicken house, boy’s dormitory roof and new windows in both of the dorms thanks to generous gifts from our donors.
- ·We carried out famine feed and survival program aid drops which benefited hundreds of people in the harsh, arid region of East Pokot.
These are just a few examples of the positive steps we are taking together as a family at IHF Kenya. But we wanted to share these milestones with you, our supporters, because we are both proud and because you are part of what has made this possible!
We look forward to many more feats in the coming year – stay tuned!
